Information literacy is a set of abilities requiring individuals to "recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information." The Tuskegee University Library Faculty is committed to providing faculty, students, and staff the necessary skills needed to use information effectively, information literacy, and critical thinking skills needed for success inside and outside of the classroom. Zoom presentations are available. For more information, contact Ms. Dekara Daniel, Instructor, at 334-727-8676 or email ddaniel@tuskegee.edu.
Turnitin.com, a web-based plagiarism detection software is available to TU faculty. Turnitin.com can be used as an educational tool to teach students how to work with sources and to improve paraphrasing and quoting skills. Turnitin's formative feedback and originality checking services promote critical thinking, ensure academic integrity, and help students become better writers.

During academic semesters, the Tuskegee University Writing Center provides students with writing support through a variety of meeting options. In Fall 2020, we offered limited face-to-face sessions and two options for online assistance: virutal conferencing (through Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate) and draft comments (students submit their writing drafts for feedback from writing coaches). We expect to offer all three options again when Spring semester begins in February 2021, and we expect to have more times available for face-to-face sessions with our writing coaches. Our physical location (for face-to-face sessions) is on the third floor of the Ford Motor Company Library.
If you have questions or problems with setting up an appointment, contact Writing Center Director Dr. Kristen Hill at khill@tuskegee.edu.
