Borrowing Books

Tuskegee University Libraries do not obtain or loan books from other institutions to distance education students. If you need library books please contact the public library near you.  

Also, if you need library books that the Tuskegee University Libraries do not own, please check with Interlibrary Loan services at a public library near you.

How to Find Books

  • Go to the library’s home page, www. tuskegee.edu/libraries
  • Click on the Library Catalog
  • The four basic search commands are word or phraseauthortitle, or subject.  Use the drop down arrow key to limit your search

Examples:

word or phrase = social problems in literature
author = Ralph Ellison
 title =  Race in Ralph Ellison's Invisible
Man
subject = race relations

Write down the complete call number (This will help you to find the book on the shelf)

Example:   HQ1031. D34 2000
Some call numbers end in EB.  These are electronic books and can only be viewed online.

To verify whether the library subscribes to a particular journal, follow the same steps as you did in finding a book.   Use your drop down arrow key to limit by periodical title
